Vera M. Scharer

Remembering Vera with Love... Vera M. Scharer, 85, 24 Tanglewood Drive, Cream Ridge, New Jersey, died Sunday at 1:10 PM in the home of her son, John. She was under the care of Hospice of Lancaster County. Born in St. Lamberts, Quebec Province, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Jesse (James) Cartledge. Her husband, Francis A. Scharer, died in 1988. Vera was a member of Incarnation Roman Catholic Church, Trenton, New Jersey. A graduate of Trenton High School, she graduated in 1939 from the St. Francis School of Nursing, Trenton. Vera was a registered nurse for over 35 years at St. Francis Hospital Medical Center, Trenton. Surviving are 2 sons, John F. Scharer, Narvon, Lancaster County, PA; and Gerald A., husband of Gloria (Pogorzelski) Scharer, Macungie, PA; 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. All details will be handled privately by the family.
