Obituary

Michael Zelenak, 67, of Reinholds, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he was the son of the late Bernard and Rita (Guerrieri) Zelenak and the loving husband of Robin (Auch) Zelenak for over 44 years.

Mike lived in several places before his family settled in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Upper Merion High School in 1977 and earned an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Montgomery County Community College.

He worked as a bookkeeper and accountant in the waste management industry beginning in 1985, most recently with Republic Services in Morgantown. Mike was known for his strong work ethic and the dedication he brought to his job.

Family meant everything to Mike. He enjoyed quiet time at home, good food, good coffee, and a good book. He especially loved spending time with Robin and found comfort in simply doing life together. Their yearly trip to Ocean City, Maryland was a special tradition. Mike also loved his dog, Spencer, who brought him great joy.

Mike is survived by four children, Emily Altmanshofer (Bill) of Huntingdon, Caitlin Wilcox (Matt) of Normal, Illinois, Zachary Zelenak (Alyssa Shevchuk) of Washington, D.C., and Austin Zelenak (Brooke) of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Isaac and Levi Wilcox and Mia and Owen Altmanshofer. He was preceded in death by childhood brother, Mark Zelenak and sister, Karen Young.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 22 at Manheim Township Community Park, Pavilion #1, 209 Petersburg Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. Visitation and brunch will begin at 10:00 AM. A memorial service and time of sharing will begin at 11:30 AM. Casual dress, please.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Humane Animal Partners Delaware, where Spencer was adopted, at www.humaneanimalpartners.org or 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801. If preferred, contributions may be given to the family at the memorial service.
