Michael P. Leed, 70, of Reinholds, passed away on August 20th, 2026, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born October 9, 1955, in Ephrata, Michael was a son of the late Edward W. Sr. & Annamaria (Uibel) Leed, and the loving husband of Sally (Zell) Leed since they married in November of 1979.
Michael served his country honorably in the United States Navy, stationed in San Diego, California. During his service, he completed two deployments as a Second Grade Boiler Technician, forging enduring friendships and a steadfast sense of duty that he carried throughout his life. In his professional career, Michael found a home in the cable and wire industry. In his 40 years at Berk Tek, he held many positions, later retiring as a production planning manager. A lifelong member of Mellingers Lutheran Church, his faith was a guiding light, grounding him through the chapters of his journey. Those who knew Michael best will remember his love for the outdoors—especially his passion for fishing. Whether it was chasing salmon up north in New York every year or saltwater fishing from sunrise to sunset with hopes of catching a flounder, he cherished the time spent on the water. Fishing was more than a hobby; it was his way of connecting with nature, friends, and family. The adventure of fishing, the peace of early mornings on the water, and the joy in sharing these moments with loved ones were treasures he held dear. He also found joy in camping, especially spending time in Delaware in the family trailer, sharing laughter, stories, and quiet moments under the stars. These trips became cherished traditions, full of warmth and togetherness. Michael’s love for his family was unwavering and evident in all that he did. He was a devoted father, always active in his children's lives. Whether coaching softball, baseball, or soccer, assisting with Boy Scouts, or supporting any endeavor his kids pursued, Michael was ever-present—lending his energy, patience, and encouragement. His support shaped the lives of those around him and left an indelible mark on his family. His spirit, kindness, and passion live on in the memories he has left with everyone who knew him.
Along with his wife, Michael is survived by his children: Michelle (Nathan) Buckwater, Holly Frantz, Dustin (Amy) Leed, & Dale Leed; 7 grandchildren; and sister, Martha Ann Leed. Michael is predeceased by his parents, and his brothers, Dale and Edward Leed Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026, at Mellingers Evangelical Lutheran Church, 80 Gockley Road, Stevens, PA 17578.
