Gladdis Z. Leid, 91, lovingly known best as “Tootsie”, passed away on September 13, 2026, at the WellSpan Community Hospital of Ephrata. She was born on June 18, 1935, in Fivepointville, to the late Richard W. & Arlene (Zerbe) Schnader, and the loving wife of Wilbur E. Leid until his passing in 2017.

Tootsie found deep meaning in the life she built and especially loved being a homemaker. She will be remembered for the care and dedication she brought to her home and for the quiet, steady presence that shaped the lives of those around her. In her personal time, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and reading, simple pleasures that brought her both comfort and enjoyment through the years. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and continue to be cherished in the days ahead.

She is survived by her three children, Victoria A. Ream, Doreen K. Buch, & Richard E. (Linda) Leid; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and brothers, Gerald Schnader, James Schnader, and Jack (Ilene) Schnader. Along with her husband, Tootsie is predeceased by her son, Darryl S. Leid; sons-in-law, Rick Buch and Gerald Ream; siblings, Dennis Schnader, Janet Connelly, and Joe Schnader.

Services will be private to the family. Tootsie’s final resting place will be at Muddy Creek Lutheran Cemetery.
