Donald L. Stoudt, 78, of Denver, passed away on October 23rd, 2026, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. He was born on April 26, 1948, in West Reading, Pennsylvania, to the late Wayne & Mildred (Mengel) Stoudt, and was the loving husband of the late Deanna L. (Thompson) Stoudt until her passing in 2024.
Raised in Adamstown, Donald was a 1967 graduate of Cocalico High School. He later attended DeVry Technical School in Chicago and studied computers for many years, building knowledge that would serve him well throughout his career and military service. He served in the United States Army for two years, using his computer science expertise during Vietnam. His working life reflected both skill and dedication. Donald was a supervisor at Burroughs, now Unisys, where he also met Deanna. He later became manager in shipping at AWI in Robesonia, from which he retired. Even in retirement, he continued working at Richland Shooters, staying connected to interests and a community he valued. Donald found great enjoyment in the outdoors and in the pursuits he loved most. Hunting, guns, the mountains, and trap shooting were among the interests that brought him lasting satisfaction. He also enjoyed reloading and treasured time spent camping and hunting in Potter County at Pappy's Nine Camping Ground. He was active in veterans’ organizations, serving as commander of the VFW in Adamstown and as a member of VFW Reinholds. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA. His memory will remain with all who knew and loved him.
Donald is survived by his son, Chuck Stoudt, and Chuck’s companion, Rhonda Mellinger; his daughter, Beth Stombaugh; his grandson, Connor Stoudt; and his granddaughter, Mattie Leid. He is also survived by his step-son, Bryan Thompson, and by his step-grandsons, Chase, Colby, and Connor Thompson. Donald is further survived by his sister, Carlene Walters and her husband, Galen. Along with his wife and parents, Donald was preceded in death by his sister, Rhodene Kuhn.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Grove Cemetery, North Broad Street, Adamstown, PA 19501.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are appreciated to the Reinholds VFW: 250 Brunners Grove Rd, Reinholds, PA 17569.
