David H. Sweigart, 65, passed away on October 26th, 2026, in the comfort of his home.

David built a long career in delivery and maintenance with La-Z-Boy, where he worked for 23 years, helping customers with practical fixes and steady, reliable service. He was highly regarded by his coworkers, who respected the way he carried himself on the job.

Outside of work, David was a true car enthusiast. He loved to work on vehicles and collect diecast models. Alongside that passion, he loved NASCAR and was a devoted Dale Earnhardt fan, following the sport with great enthusiasm. He never missed a race.

David also enjoyed comedy immensely. His laughter would fill the room and was utterly contagious. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and keep it going for hours. He was known for his warm kindness and his loving heart. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.

David is survived by his mother, Annamarie Sweigart; his children, Derek Sweigart, Abby Sweigart, and Nikolas Shotz; his grandchildren, Isaac, Viviana, and Lydia; his sisters, Kim Schmidt and Kathy McGuire; his nephew, Ryan Schmidt; his niece, Lauren Pfautz, and his great-nephews, Colton and Parker. He was predeceased by his father, Harold Sweigart.

A private service will be held for the family.
