Dallas R.
Lucas
October 16, 1962 – June 3, 2026
Liberty Baptist
11:00 am - 12:00 pm (Eastern time)
Dallas R. Lucas, 63, of Denver, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on June 3, 2026, at Hershey Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 16, 1962, in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, he was the son of R. Dallas Lucas & Carol Ann Spangler, and the loving husband of Sandra V. (Pearce) Lucas for 27 years.
A graduate of Langley High School in McClain, Virginia, class of 1981, Dallas found his calling behind the wheel, embracing a career in the trucking field. He was self-employed for many years, ending his career driving professionally for Pepperidge Farm. His passion for trucking went beyond work; he was truly a truck enthusiast, especially proud of his own Kenworth 900L. Dallas was well known in his community for his service and leadership. He was a life member of the Denver Fire Company, having served as a firefighter since 1985. His tenure of commitment included a decade as secretary, numerous years as assistant chief engineer, and duties as safety officer. His dedication was matched by his active role in the Lions Club and his strong faith as a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Those close to Dallas remember him as good-hearted and kind, quiet until one had the privilege to know him well. He enjoyed going back to the mountains of Clinton County. Dallas’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He leaves behind a lasting impression of loyalty, faith, and the simple yet profound joys of life shared with loved ones. His loss is deeply mourned, and his memory cherished by all who knew him.
Dallas is survived by his wife, Sandra Lucas; his mother, Carol Ann Spangler; his step-father, Roy M. Dagnall; his son, Dallas S. (Emily) Lucas, of Mohnton; stepson, Shane Hornberger of Ephrata; as well as his grandson Wyatt and granddaughter Lyla; two brothers, Brian Dagnall (Eva), and Todd Dagnall of Wisconsin; and nephew Cody Dagnall. Dallas was preceded in death by his father, R. Dallas Lucas.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 13, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church 47 Cindia Ln Ephrata, PA 17522. This gathering will offer family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Dallas the opportunity to honor his memory and the generous spirit he embodied throughout his years.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are appreciated to the Denver Fire Company: 425 Locust St, Denver, PA 17517, www.denverpafire.org/donations.
