Obituary

Betty J. Kauffman, 86, of Ephrata, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at Tower Health Reading Hospital. Born December 5, 1939, in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, Betty was the daughter of Daniel E. & Christiana C. (Shimd) Noll Sr. and the loving wife of Larry R. Kauffman Sr. for 47 years until his passing in 2005.

For over 20 years, Betty dedicated her working life to Bollman Hat Factory in Adamstown. Her commitment and hard work there reflected her strong work ethic and sense of responsibility. A woman of unwavering faith, Betty regularly attended Reamstown Church of God when able. Her love for the Lord was the cornerstone of her character, informing her compassionate outlook and her desire to share Jesus with those around her. She was known for always being on your side—offering thoughtful words of wisdom and unwavering support no matter the situation. Betty’s reliability and giving nature enriched the lives of everyone she touched. From an early age, Betty enjoyed the togetherness and vibrancy of a large family, a value that shaped her life and became central to her happiness. Family gatherings, especially during the holidays, were times of special joy. Betty loved nothing more than being surrounded by her loved ones, sharing in laughter, love, and delicious treats that she lovingly prepared. Her skill for baking flourished as she raised her family, making each holiday and milestone memorable. Her life, spanning over eight decades, was marked by steadfast devotion to her family, a deep and abiding faith, and a commitment to kindness and generosity. Outside of work, Betty found joy in simple pleasures. She especially loved reading inspirational novels, drawing comfort and hope from the stories she cherished. Betty was an avid traveler, delighting in adventures both near and far. Whether on cross-country journeys or small camping trips to the beach, she fostered memories and experiences that brought her great happiness. Her curious and adventurous spirit inspired those around her and encouraged many to see the joy in exploring new places. Betty’s life was a testament to the power of faith, family, and kindness. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
