Remembering Franklin with Love... Franklin D. Fry, age 102, formerly of Ephrata and Adamstown, Lancaster County, PA, died April 4, 2011, in LutherCare, Lititz, PA, where he resided since October 2005. Born in Spring Township, Berks County, PA, he was a son of the late John Gehman and Elizabeth Zimmerman (Demming) Fry, and was the husband of Minerva Mae (Shober) Fry, LutherCare, Lititz, with whom he celebrated his 81st wedding anniversary on November 28, 2010. Franklin was an active member of Muddy Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church , Denver . His employment included Textile Machine Works Berkshire Knitting Mills, both Reading; co-owned KF Hosiery Mill, founder of Dutchie Soft Pretzel Plant, both Ephrata; and in sales with Carpet Mart, Lancaster, retiring at age 85. A 67 year member of Ephrata Lodge #665 Free Accepted Masons, he was past president of both Lancaster County Club of Reading Consistory Lancaster County Shrine Club; member of Lancaster Lodge of Perfection, Reading Consistory, Reading's Rajah Shrine, and Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Also surviving is his daughter, Marian (Marvin) Blaylock, Ephrata; and grandsons, Mark Jeff. He was predeceased by a daughter, Virginia Bottoms; granddaughter, Karen; sisters, Minnie Sheaffer, Stella Mohn Mary Fitterling; and brothers, James Walter Fry. The family is grateful for the loving care provided by everyone with LutherCare and Hospice. Viewings Funeral Services... Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011, at 2:00 pm from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with The Rev. David T. Hinkley officiating with burial in Muddy Creek Cemetery , Swartzville. A viewing will be held on Saturday from noon to 1:30 pm when a Masonic farewell service will be held by members of Ephrata Lodge #665 FAM.
