Remembering
"Honey" Weinhold... Born in Reamstown on March 10, 1912, a son of the late Stephen B. and Katie (Withers) Weinhold, he was married for 62 years to Sadie (Becker) Weinhold, who died April 18, 1999. "Honey", as many knew him, was a 1929 graduate of East Cocalico High School, Reamstown. He served in the Army during World War II. His regiment served in the European Theatre and remains active guarding the tomb of the unknown soldier. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Denver; Cloister Post #429 American Legion, Ephrata; Cocalico Post #3376 VFW, Ephrata; Ephrata Lodge #665 Free & Accepted Mason; Lancaster Lodge of Perfection; Reading Consistory; Rajah Temple Shrine, Reading; and The Friendly Circle of Lincoln Sr. Group. He retired after 18 years as clerk at the Ephrata Post Office and was previously employed for 28 years by the former Berkshire Knitting Mill, Wyomissing. He is survived by a sister, Kathryn W., widow of H. Evans Sloat, a resident of Fairmount Homes, Farmersville, and several nieces and nephews. Formerly of South 4th Street, Denver, he resided since May of 1993 at Brethren Village, Neffsville, where he died Wednesday morning at 3:15 AM. |

Services... A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2001, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in our parlor and on Monday, June 11, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Chapel at Brethren Village with the ceremony beginning at 10:00 AM. Graveside services will follow from Fairview Cemetery, Denver, PA. |
