Born in Brecknock Township, Berks County, PA, Helen was a daughter of the late Jeremiah H. and Lizzie A. (Kachel) Hoshauer.  Her husband, Alfred H. Leid, died May 3, 1984.  She was a member of Allegheny Evangelical Lutheran Church, Knauers, where she had been a member of the choir.  Helen is survived by her devoted son, Charles A. Leid, Alleghenyville.  She resided in Alleghenyville up until the last five years when receiving care at Denver Nursing Home.  Helen received her reward on Saturday, April 28, 2001, at 6:45 AM.

Burial will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville.
