Remembering Abbie with love...     

Abbie E. Zartman, 77, formerly of Ephrata, Lancaster County, died Thursday evening at 7:20 PM in Denver Nursing Home, Stevens, Lancaster County, where she resided since October 1995.  Born in Geigertown, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late James and Ida (Stohler) McMichael.   She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Ephrata.   A 1944 graduate of Mt. Penn High School, Berks County, 1958 graduate of Brylon Institute, Reading, and a 1965 graduate of McCann’s School of Business, Reading.   Retiring in 1994, she had been employed for 20 years as the office manager for Ephrata Tool and Die, Ephrata, PA.   A member of the Eberbach Committee of Ephrata, she had also been active in Girl Scouts, 4-H Club, Farm Women’s Society and the Denver Woman’s Club.   Surviving are a daughter, Patricia A. (Zartman), wife of Marlin G. Musser, Lititz, PA; a son, Thomas L., husband of Barbara A. (Burkholder) Zartman, Ephrata, PA; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lester McMichael, Boyertown, PA; and Richard McMichael, Reading, PA; and 3 sisters, Dorothy (McMichael) Kershner, and Emily (McMichael) Yoder, both of Reading, PA; and Audrey McMichael, Birdsboro, PA.     She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Carl McMichael and Elwood Stohler; and 3 sisters, Kathryn Nedzia, June Brady, and Florence Fick.

 

 

 

 

 

Viewing & Services

A viewing will be held on Sunday evening, January 11, 2004, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM from our funeral home.  The ceremony celebrating Abbie's life will begin at 7:30 PM with her pastor, The Reverend James E. Carver, officiating.  

Graveside services will be held on Monday morning, January 12, 2004, at 11:00 AM from Memory Gardens Memorial Park, 319 Wabash Road, Ephrata, PA 17522 (just off Route 272 north of Ephrata; across from the new Four Seasons building project)
