Arlan
R. Withers, 65, of 90 North Reamstown Road, Reamstown,
Lancaster County, died unexpectedly early Friday morning in
the emergency room of Ephrata Community Hospital where he was
taken after being stricken with a heart attack at his
residence.
Born
in West Reading, Berks County, he was a son of the late
Raymond Y. and Mazie W. (Kessler) Withers.
He was the husband of Anna M. (Sheaffer) Withers for 43
years on July 19, 2001.
Withers
was the third generation owner and operator of G. S. Withers
& Sons Monuments, Reamstown, for 46 years, a business
founded in 1879 by his grandfather.
His son, Raymond A. Withers, is associated with the
family business and will continue the tradition.
He
was a member of the East Cocalico Lions Club of Reamstown.
His
wife and son are his sole survivors.
Arlan's funeral will be held on Tuesday morning , October 23, 2001, at 10:00 AM from our parlors. Burial will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery, East Cocalico Township, PA. A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
