"GENE"...
Eugene
B. Wanner, 78, of 2106 Northmont Boulevard, Reading, Berks
County, formerly of North Sixth Street, Denver, Lancaster
County, died Thursday morning in Ephrata Community Hospital
where he was a patient for the past 5 days.
Born
in Reading, he was a son of the late Clayton S. and Florence
W. (Becker) Wanner.
His wife, Elizabeth J. (Woodworth) Wanner, died August
19, 1998.
He
was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Adamstown, where he had been a former member of church
council, church sexton, choir member, Sunday school teacher
and secretary of the Lutheran Church Men.
Wanner
was a staff sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War
II, having served in the European Theatre. He was a member of
the Adamstown VFW.
Eugene
was employed many years ago by the former Cloister Dairy,
Ephrata; former Pennsupreme Dairy, Ephrata; Wertz Garage,
Adamstown; and last, retiring in 1987 from Hope Hosiery Mill,
Adamstown.
Following retirement, he was employed part-time by Weis
Markets, Ephrata, for several years.
Surviving
is a step-mother, Eva (George) Wanner, a guest at Fairmount
Homes, Farmersville, Lancaster County; a daughter, Bonnie J.,
wife of Paul R. Line III, Reading; 2 grandchildren; 4
great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Leon, married to Nancy Wanner,
and Bruce, married to Mildred Wanner, both of Ephrata; and
Larry, married to Sandy Wanner, Adamstown; and a half-brother,
Richard L. Mull, Ephrata.
He
was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Wanner. |

Viewing
& Services...
The funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, October 1, 2001, at 10:00 AM from our parlor with The Reverend Sandra L. Gideon officiating. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening, September 30, 2001, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Burial will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring, PA. |
