Betty J. Texter, 79, of Lancaster Avenue, Post Office Box 414, Adamstown, Lancaster County, PA 19501, died Friday at 10:50 AM in ManorCare of Sinking Spring, Spring Township, Berks County, where she resided since December 31, 2001. Born in Adamstown, she was a daughter of the late Solomon R. and Carrie M. (Stork) Lesher, and was the wife of Lawrence W. Texter for 53 years on February 12, 2002. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Adamstown. Mrs. Texter was last employed by the Bollman Hat Factory, Adamstown, and had previously worked at the former Narrow Fabrics and Cinderella Knitting Mill, Denver, PA. Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Carol A. (Texter), married to Edward D. Stoudt, Adamstown, PA; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; and a brother, Charles S., married to Caroline (Treisch) Lesher, Denver, PA. She was preceded in death by a brother, John E. Lesher, in 1998, and a sister, Mary Rebecca Keller, in 2001.
Betty's viewing and funeral will be held privately by her family. She will be buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown, Lancaster County, PA.
