Irvin
J. Schonour, age 94, formerly of 1802 Portland Avenue, West
Lawn, Berks County, died Saturday morning at 8:20 AM in the
Denver Nursing Home, Stevens, Lancaster County, where he had
resided since March 20, 2000.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Joseph L. and
Ellen (Marks) Schonour.
His wife, Anna (Rapak) Schonour, died March 15, 2002.
He was a member of Advent Evangelical Lutheran Church,
West Lawn, and the Chandler Lodge #227 Free & Accepted
Masons, West Reading.
Schonour retired in 1972 after 48 years with
Metropolitan Edison Company, West Reading, where he last
served as foreman.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Betty Jane (Schonour)
Brannon, Byron, GA; June R. (Schonour) Brossman, Robesonia,
PA; and Sylvia A. (Schonour) Leach, Stevens, PA; 6
grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2
great-great-grandchildren.
A brother, Harry Schonour, preceded him in death.
Irvin's service will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2002, at 11:00 AM at graveside in Pleasant View Cemetery, 650 Fritztown Road, Sinking Spring, PA 19608, with The Reverend Stephen E. Hollinger officiating.
