Earl Portman McCowan

     Earl Portman McCowan, 76, of Cedar Haven Nursing Home, Lebanon, died Friday morning, November 14th, in Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.  Born in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Earl Lee and Edna Haverilda (Hinchliffe) McCowan.  He was an overhead gantry crane operator, having worked for 30 years for Armco Steel, Houston, Texas, retiring in 1980.  He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and also served in the United States Maritime Service.  Surviving are 2 sons, Earl Lee McCowan, Oakhurst, California; and Michael Travis, married to Deb (Balish) McCowan, of Myerstown, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.
