Lila Mae with love...
Lila
Mae Kiefer, 89, formerly of Bowmansville, Ephrata and Denver,
died Wednesday morning at 3:15 AM in Maple Farms Nursing
Center, Akron, Lancaster County, PA, where she resided for the
past 6 years.
Born
in Sault St. Marie, Ontario, Canada, she was a daughter of the
late Henry and Anna L. (Garber) Gehman, and was the widow of
John W. Kiefer, who died September 15, 2000, and Lewis G.
Horning, who died November 11, 1979.
Mrs.
Kiefer was a member of Ephrata Church of the Brethren where
she had been active in the Bible Study Group.
She
was employed for many years by the Servomation Company,
Lancaster, working for them at the former Cinderella Knitting
Mill, Denver, Lancaster County.
Lila
enjoyed crafts and attending craft shows.
Surviving
are 2 daughters, Constance L. (Hornberger) Sweigart, Denver;
and Gloria A. (Hornberger) Reider, Schoeneck, Lancaster
County; 8 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; 4
Great-Great-Grandchildren; 2 step-daughters, Mary Ann
(Kiefer), wife of Barry L. Jacobs, Narvon, Lancaster County;
and Mabel (Horning), wife of Harold Good, Blainsport,
Lancaster County; 2 step-sons, Jay L. Horning, Denver; and
Kenneth S. Horning, Herndon; and numerous step-grand,
great-grand and great-great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by a daughter Constantine Mae Hornberger
and 4 brothers, Emerson, Ivan, David and Ralph Gehman. |

Viewing
& Services... Lila's viewing will be held on Monday, February 3, 2003, from 1:30 to 2:00 PM from our funeral parlors. The service will begin at 2:00 PM with her pastor, The Reverend Galen R. Hackman, officiating. Burial will follow the service in Salem Union Cemtery, Reamstown.
