Gertrude E. Herman, 80, of 158 Westbrook Drive, Ephrata, Lancaster County, formerly of Oak Lane, Stevens, Lancaster County, died in her home Monday night at 8:50 PM under the care of Hospice of Lancaster County. Born in Ephrata, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Mazie I. (Weaver) Donmoyer. Her husband, Woodrow W. Herman, died October 12, 1982. Retiring in 1986, she was employed for 40 years by the F&M Hat Factory, Denver. Gertrude enjoyed attending carnivals and family events. Surviving is a daughter, Rosey J. Herman, at home; 2 granddaughters; 2 great-grandsons; and a sister, Rhoda, married to Roy R. Royer, Campellstown, Lebanon County, PA. A son, Charles E. Herman, preceded Mrs. Herman in death in 1999.
All details will be handled privately at Gertrude's request in her preplanned arrangements. Private inurnment of her cremains will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Ephrata, PA.
The family asks that flowers be omitted and contributions in her memory be sent to Hospice of Lancaster County, Post Office Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
