Earl
Kent “Shorty” Hanna, age 74, of 1315 Kramer Mill Road,
Denver, Lancaster County, died in his residence on Tuesday
evening at 10:45 PM under the care of Hospice of Lancaster
County.
His death followed a lengthy illness.
Born in Little Britton, PA, he was a son of the late
LeRoy W. and Mary (Brown) Hanna, and was the husband of Edith
P. (Bartholomew) Hanna for 53 years on August 6, 2002.
Retiring in 1992, he was employed as a mechanic and
truck driver for H. R. Ewell, Inc., East Earl, for 35 years.
Hanna was a sergeant in the Army during World War II
and was a life member of the Adamstown VFW.
An avid fisherman, he also built and flew remote
control model airplanes.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 daughters,
Wendy C. (Hanna), married to Calvin Weidman, Jr., and Donna P.
(Hanna), married to L. Dean Imhoff, both of Denver, PA; 4
grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther
(Hanna), married to Marvin Diem, Narvon, Lancaster County, PA;
and a brother, Emmett L., married to Mary (Brown) Hanna,
Rothsville, Lancaster County, PA.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky E. Hanna, in
1970. |

Viewing
& Services... Earl's viewing will be held on Friday evening, April 25, 2003, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from our parlors. The funeral will be held on Saturday morning, April 26, 2003, at 10:00 AM from our funeral home with The Reverend George H. Frantz officiating. Burial will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville, Lancaster County, near his son, Ricky.
