Earlene L. Becker, 74, formerly of 2135 Old Lancaster Pike, Reinholds, Berks County, died Tuesday evening at 9:30 PM in the Mennonite Home, Lancaster, where she resided since August 24, 1999. Born in East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin C. and Elsie M. (Kohl) Sweigart. Her husband, Harry A. “Junior” Becker, died November 27, 1994. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Swartzville, and also was a life-member of the American Motorcycle Association and the Adamstown VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Earlene had been employed many years ago by the former Cinderella Knitting Mill, Denver, Lancaster County. Surviving is a sister, Shirley Sweigart, Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Emily E. Lied, and 2 brothers, Alton and Marvin Sweigart.
Earlene's viewing will be held from our parlor on Sunday, March 24, 2002, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. The funeral will be at our establishment on Monday, March 25, 2002, at 10:00 AM with her pastor, The Reverend William E. Hoch, officiating.
