Lucy
E. Beck, 74, of 475 Wabash Road, Ephrata, Lancaster County,
died Tuesday morning at 3:15 AM in the emergency room of
Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Ephrata Township, Lancaster County, she was a daughter
of the late Milton and Charlotte (Royer) Reese, and was the
wife of Lester C. Beck for 40 years on April 30th.
She had retired in 1989 after 42 years of employment
with the former Ephrata Shoe Company.
Lucy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the
Stevens Fire Company.
She was a collector of teddy bears and Coca Cola
Trademark Items, and enjoyed knitting and fishing.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son Robert K.
Beck, Ephrata; a step-daughter, Eleanora, married to Kenneth
Young, Lewes, DE; 2 granddaughters; 3 step-grandchildren; 4
step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Rayford Reese,
Brownstown, PA.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Virginia Palm, and
3 brothers, Octavius, Valentino and Orville Reese.
Lucy's viewing will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2002, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM from our funeral parlor with the service beginning at 10:00 AM, The Reverend Blair Nixdorf will officiate. Burial will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville, PA.
