M. Haldeman, 91, of Ephrata, died Monday, October 20, 2008, in
Ephrata

. Born in

Cocalico
Township
, a son of the late Martin and Maggie (Noll) Haldeman, he was
the husband of V. June (Hummer) Haldeman.
They would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on
December 31st.
A member of
Mohler
Church
of the Brethren, he graduated from
Newmanstown
High School
and was an army veteran of World War II.
Retiring from Kalas Manufacturing,
Denver
, he was employed earlier for 25 years as a full fashion
knitter at Berkshire Knitting Mills, Wyomissing. Wilmer
was an avid golfer, enjoyed reading and trout fishing, and was
a painter, having been a student of Charles X. Carlson.
Also surviving is a son, James N., husband of Dreama
(Mills) Haldeman, Mountville; a daughter, M. Suzanne, wife of
Douglas Mackley, Reamstown; grandchildren, Lori Mendenhall,
Christopher Weid, Amanda Linden, Erik Haldeman and Bethany
Mackley; and 7 great-grandchildren.
A sister, Miriam Krall, predeceased him.
