Grace E. Sweigart

Grace E. Sweigart, 84, a long-time Reamstown resident, died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, August 20, 2008, in Luther Acres Manor, Lititz , PA. Grace’s husband of 53 years, Floyd W. Sweigart, died December 14, 1999.
   A daughter of Harry Brossman and Nettie (Eberly) Oberholtzer, she  was a graduate of East Cocalico Vocational School , Class of ‘42, Reamstown, and Bryland Beauty School , Reading. Grace operated her own beauty shop for over 30 years while raising seven children.
   Active in the community and a member of Salem Lutheran
Church , Reamstown, she served in leadership roles of social ministry and women’s groups and sang in the choir. Grace loved music, playing the piano, and was a gifted seamstress, quilter and cook.
   In retirement, she and her husband enjoyed spending time at their home in
Lake City , FL , traveling, and treasuring time spent with their children,
grandchildren and close friends.
   Surviving are sons: Dr. T. Neil (Margaret)Sweigart, Vincennes, IN; Kurt A. (Jane) Sweigart, Edmond, OK; Kent O. (Jane) Sweigart, Ephrata, PA; daughters: Eileen M. Sweigart-Rios, Lancaster, PA; Martha A. (Ray) Brunner, East Petersburg, PA; Frieda J. (Martin) Schmidt, Downingtown, PA; and Karen J. Buynak, Denver, PA; 13 grandsons, 4 granddaughters and a great-granddaughter.  Grace was predeceased by a brother, Richard E. Oberholtzer.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 25, 2008, at 2:00 PM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with Chaplain Walter Cleckley, officiating. Burial in Memory Gardens , Ephrata , PA.   A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
