Robert S. Gramando

Robert S. Gramando, 60, Reinholds , PA , formerly of Ellicott City , MD , died at home Sunday, August 3, 2008.  Born at Mitchell Field, Long Island , NY , he was a son of the late Louis F. and Kathleen C. (Van Tenac) Gramando.  He received his Bachelor of Finance degree from the University of Texas , and retired in January after 36 years of active and reserve military service, working for the Social Security Administration and the Army Reserves.  Bob was also proprietor of “Hand Made N Shop” at Stoudtsburg Village , Adamstown , PA.   A life member of the Adamstown VFW, he enjoyed cruises, snow skiing and trips to the beach in Ocean City , MD.   Surviving is his 26 year soul-mate, Joyce E. Sweasy, Reinholds; daughter, Kristina L. (Brad) Wentworth, Warrenton , OR ; grandchildren, Danielle, Kainlyn, Lily and Braden; sister, Kathryn A. Gramando, Falls Church, VA; and brother, Allen F. (Kristin Williams) Gramando, Arizona City, AZ; and his faithful chocolate lab, "Godiva".

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Friday, August 8, 2008, at 8:00 PM from Good Funeral Home, 34-38 N. Reamstown Rd. , Reamstown , PA 17567 , with viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  Military Honors and further services will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at 10:45 AM from the chapel of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.  Kindly omit flowers; contributions to Fisher House Foundation, 1401 Rockville Pike, Suite 600, Rockville, MD 20852.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ARLINGTON SERVICE AND BURIAL:

There will be NO procession to Arlington...everyone is on their own getting there.  We are to arrive at the chapel parking area at 10:15 AM SHARP on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, for a 10:45 AM Mass of Christian Burial and will process from the chapel to the grave for military honors.      Many of you are familiar with government and military regulations and understand that there is no time for strolling and small talk during this time at the cemetery.  We follow precise timing and instructions and the lead of those in charge at the cemetery, and remember that they are on a close schedule to accommodate many other families the same day.
